Every year, millions of pounds are spent on furnishings and new furniture, as people renovate and improve their homes. The choice of styles and designs are breathtaking, and the combinations of fabrics and finishes that people choose make their homes truly unique.
There’s one thing that everyone looks for, however, when choosing new furniture, and that is comfort. Whether or not they need to sacrifice modern design or style for that comfort, is another question entirely.
A lot of modern furniture looks great, with designers creating sleek and minimalist styles of chair. They often look like they’re made just for appearances though, and sitting on them can confirm your worst fear – they can be hard and uncomfortable, and just for show, and if you want true comfort you need to look elsewhere. It didn’t always used to be this way, though, with some classic styles of furniture throughout the years managing to look great as well as being comfy. Take the rocking chair for example, and in particular the Amish rocking chair – this is truly a thing of beauty, and lovingly crafted into a simple yet elegant design that manages to be one of the most comfortable places you can sit. It’s a design that has lasted down through the years, and is still as popular today as it was a century ago.
Not all modern chairs are badly designed, though. The zero gravity chair is truly futuristic in style, coming as it does from a NASA design. It’s regarded as being the most relaxing chair you can sit in, and when you recline back you soon see why – you sit so far back that you’re almost horizontal, and in this position there is no gravity forcing down through your spine. This provides more than just a catchy name for the chair, though, as it makes it perfect for anyone who has a history of back trouble as it allows the spine a chance to recuperate.
The zero gravity chair is available in a range of fabrics and finishes meaning that there’s sure to be one that will suit your home. Their space-aged design proves once and for all that modern sleek furniture doesn’t have to be uncomfortable.
